Sharon Udasin, a reporter for The Jerusalem Post, came under a barrage of criticism on Monday after sending the above tweet. Udasin covers animal issues for the Post and sought to write a story on how rocket sirens were affecting dogs and cats in Southern Israel.

With three Israelis and 100 Palestinians killed in the conflict, many criticised the reporter for focusing on pets in the midst of an ongoing crisis.

Israeli blogger Uri Horesh responded by asking if the question was meant as satire. The two engaged in a heated Twitter exchange.
